You don’t really want family photos.
You want the images — the ones that feel like your real life — but without the stress beforehand, the outfit spiral the night before (cue the spirited 2 year old, or the typical pre-teen), the pressure on your kids to behave, or the quiet worry afterward about whether it was worth the effort.
Most families don’t put off photos because they don’t value them.
They put them off because they remember how overwhelming they felt.
My job isn’t simply to photograph your family. It’s to make the entire experience feel calm, prepared, and genuinely enjoyable — from the moment you book to the moment your artwork lives in your home.

After booking, you’ll receive a personalized style board created specifically for your family — taking into account your home, your wall tones, and whether we’re photographing outdoors in warm evening light or inside your home during Minnesota’s colder months.
You won’t be guessing what photographs well together or ordering multiple outfits hoping one works. Most families either pull directly from the client wardrobe or build around one recommended piece, and the rest falls into place quickly.
Your only job is making sure everyone is rested and fed.
You don’t need perfectly behaved kids or a rehearsed plan.

Within the first few minutes, families usually realize the session won’t feel like they expected.
There’s no lineup and no asking kids to sit still and smile. Whether we’re in your living room with soft window light or outdoors while your kids explore, the session begins with movement and interaction — not posing.
I gently guide placement the entire time — adjusting hands, angles, and spacing so you look natural without wondering what to do.
Kids warm up quickly because nothing feels forced.
Dads relax because it’s efficient and comfortable.
And moms stop managing everyone.

You won’t need to watch your children closely or remind anyone to smile. I use simple direction that creates genuine connection — walking together, holding close, talking quietly, lifting, sitting, moving, pausing.
This creates variety and emotion without stiff posing.
I also work around attention spans intentionally: active moments followed by connection, then a short reset, then something playful again. That rhythm works just as well inside your home in February as it does outside in September, and it’s why sessions feel calm instead of chaotic.
We finish before kids burn out, not after.
Families often leave surprised at how quick it felt — more like spending time together than completing a task.

Instead of receiving a large gallery and being expected to sort through it by yourself, I help you choose what you love and design how it lives in your home.
Albums, framed artwork, and wall pieces are all designed for you — sized for your space and cohesive with your home. You won’t need to measure, design layouts, or compare dozens of similar images.
Your photos won’t live on a phone waiting for a someday project.
They become part of your daily life.

The most common thing parents say isn’t just that the photos are beautiful. It’s that the experience felt easy and fun!
Family photography shouldn’t feel like something you survived.
It should feel like time you enjoyed — and now get to keep.
The hardest decision afterward won’t be whether you love your photos.
It will only be where to put them.
